Oh hey I'm Julia. I'm 23. I graduated from Rowan University, and I live outside of Philly with my boyfriend and our cat Chauncey. I rule. I enjoy the finer things in life such as live music, knitting, reading, talk radio, Wilco, and Mr. Peanut.
I get by with a little help from my FRIENDS!
So not having a job is pretty damm boring. Granted, I got the whole unemployment thing figured out, but I won’t be making much money. What does that mean? I get to sit home and not spend a dime on a damm thing. NO SPENDING. EVER. NO MALL. NO OVERSTOCK.COM, NO AMAZON, NO BOOKSTORE, NO COFFEE. My hangout is my desk or couch, I’m my own barista, and my entertainment is Maury, Highway to Heaven, and Arthur. I could go outside, but it’s shitty! Slush, and ice, and dog piss everywhere on the snow. So screw it. I’ll stay in my PJs, and wallow. I work on my website sorta, read, knit, and sleep.
At least I have a billion friends I can talk to. That makes it easier.
This past weekend was spent with some of my best friends in the Poconos. This was our second year getting together and renting a house. I love that my friends and I have these annual events that force us to hang out.
That sounds bad, like we are forced to hang out. No.
What I mean is, we have the Poconos, the Boston/St. Pat’s trip, the SJ beer pong classic. All of these things happen every year, and it makes it certain that we will all see each other. A chance to catch up, in the name of a fun time. I look forward to that.
They make it easier.
I love lunch dates, too by the way. But after so many lunches, it all adds up. I can’t afford to eat lunch three times a week with my friends. Oh well. I’m looking forward to the spring, when I can pack a lunch, and meet people in Rittenhouse or in the park. And sit on a blanket, read a book, and get a little sun. Ahhhhhhh.
Soon enough!
